New Tax Credit Introduced for Employee Wellness Programs

In April of 2009, a bill, HR 1897 (insert text link "HR 1897"), was introduced as an amendment to the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. The bill provides a federal tax credit incentive to offset costs for employers who wish to implement employee wellness programs. Qualifying employee wellness programs include physical fitness, nutrition, mental health, stress management, tobacco use and depression.
